Mr. Scott Hamshaw - Graduate research assistant at UVM - Biographical Sketch


Scott Hamshaw is a graduate research assistant at UVM pursuing a M.S. and Ph.D in Civil & Environmental Engineering. After graduating in ’06 from UVM and St. Michael’s College he worked in a consulting engineering firm in Burlington before resuming his studies at UVM in ’11. He has received a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Award in support of his graduate studies at UVM. His current research with Professor Donna Rizzo involves applying advanced computational methods to fluvial studies including sediment transport and watershed erosion. Scott has also applied his engineering knowledge to drinking water projects in Honduras through his studies at UVM and involvement in Engineers without Borders.
