U.S. Small Business Administration Vermont 2007 Small Business Winners

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced Vermont's 2007 Small-Business Winners. Jack Glaser, president and co-founder of MBV Bioscience in Williston, was named the Small-Business Person of the Year. Brothers Carl, Mike and John Beauregard, co-owners of Beauregard Equipment in Colchester, are the Vermont and New England Regional Family-Owned Business of the Year. Don Kelpinski of White River Junction, the retired director of the Vermont Small Business Development Center, is the Vermont Financial Service Champion of the Year. Mark Blanchard, technology development and commercial adviser for the Vermont Small Business Development Center in White River Junction, is the Vermont Small-Business Champion of the Year. Bruce Edwards, business reporter for the Rutland Herald, was named Small-Business Journalist of the Year. Mary Claire Carroll, the owner of Carroll Photos in Richmond, was chosen Vermont Women in Business Champion of the Year. Janice Scruton, the owner of Cheap Kids II/Trendy Threads, a Barre retail consignment store for children's clothing, was given the Vermont Microenterprise Award.
