Dr. Judith Van Houten Elected AAAS Fellow


Dr. Judith Van Houten

Dr. Judith Van Houten, University Distinguished Professor, VT State EPSCoR Director, Vermont Genetics Network (VGN) Director, George H. Perkins Professor of Biology, has been elected to the rank of AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) Fellow.
 
AAAS Fellows are elected annually by the AAAS Council for those whose "efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished."
 
Dr. Van Houten is being honored for her "distinguished contributions to the field of chemosensory signal transduction and to development of research infrastructure and pre-baccalaureate education throughout the state of Vermont".
 
Dr. Van Houten will be presented with this distinction in February 2010 at the AAAS Fellows Forum, a part of the AAAS Annual Meeting, in San Diego, California.
