WELCOME TO THE Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources! This is an exciting time to be part of our community. In October 2003, the School received a $15 million gift from Stephen Rubenstein and his family. This gift, the largest in the history of the University of Vermont, will help move us closer to reaching our goal of becoming the premiere environmental university. We are also going forward with the "Greening of Aiken," a major renovation and expansion of the George D. Aiken Center, where the School is housed. This project is a visible example of how our students, faculty, and staff are working together to tackle a "real" issue to come up with a solution. We envision a new home with the latest environmental technologies as well as a comfortable learning and working space.

These are just a couple highlights of what is happening in the School. There is so much to share with you about the School so I invite you to explore our web site further. You'll find details about our undergraduate majors, numerous hands-on learning opportunities, study abroad, travel courses, internships, research facilities, and more. I hope you will consider joining our community, so you, too, will be part of this excitement!
