Libby Miles is Associate Professor of English and the Director of Foundational Writing and Information Literacy. She joined the faculty at UVM in January 2015, after many years at the University of Rhode Island. There, she had served as Department Chair, Director of Graduate Studies, Writing Center Director, and Assessment Coordinator. In 2010, she was honored with the URI Foundation's Excellence in Teaching Award, and she regularly gives professional development workshops with approaches to active learning. With Jose A. Amador and C.B. Peters, she has co-authored The Practice of Problem-Based Learning (2006), and her other scholarship has appeared in CCC, College English, JAC, WPA, Business Communication Quarterly, and several edited collections. Her various works have earned the CCCC Berlin and Braddock awards, as well as a "Best Article" in WPA award. She has served on executive committees for CCCC and CWPA, as well as a host of local, regional, and national committees.
