What You Can Do
Don't pour chemicals or oil down storm drains, they drain to the lake.
Clean up after your dogdog waste is a serious source of pollution in the lake.
Don't dump home or boat wastes directly into Lake Champlain.
Use limited amounts of fertilizer on your lawn and gardens.
Don't rake yard wastes into nearby streams or storm gutters.
Wash your car with non-phosphorous and biodegradable soaps. Wash it on your lawn so that the excess water doesn't run down the driveway and into stormsewers.
