Seasonal Flu Shot Clinic Update for Faculty, Staff

Release Date: 10-21-2009

Author: Human Resource

Due to a shortage of available vaccine, we have been able to secure only 25 percent of our usual supply of seasonal flu inoculations. As a result, we are reducing to two the number of flu shot clinics we are able to offer.

Please note that these seasonal flu shot clinics are separate and distinct from the plans being made for H1N1 flu shots through the Center for Health and Wellbeing.

Seasonal Flu Shot Guidelines:

  • We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to get your seasonal flu shot from your primary care physician or another source available to you. (Depending on your primary care physician's policy, s/he may charge you your usual co-pay, or may not charge you at all.)
  • Seasonal flu shots will be on a first-come, first-served basis. (An appropriate number of tickets will be handed out to those waiting in line each day, so that you will know upon your arrival whether or not you will be able to receive a shot.)
  • We will ONLY be able to inoculate the primary health insurance account holder.
  • Nurses are in short supply and there may be only one giving vaccinations. Please plan ahead as we expect that you will need to wait in line.

Revised dates, times, locations:

  • October 28, 2009, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Phi Beta Kappa, Waterman Building.
  • November 5, 2009, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. North Lounge, Billings.

BRING YOUR UVM PHOTO ID and your INSURANCE CARD along with the $10 vaccination fee.

If more vaccine becomes available, dates and times may be added. Updated information will be posted on the HRS website.
