Lake Fever: Eutrophication and the Tragically (un)Hip Role of Nitrogen
Dr. Mark McCarthy to give seminar at Rubenstein Ecosystem Science Laboratory
- By Jason Dana Stockwell
Please join us at the Rubenstein Ecosystem Science Laboratory on Tuesday, April 15th at 3:30 for a special seminar by Dr. Mark McCarthy from the University of Texas Austin. Dr. McCarthy has published widely on the often overlooked role of nitrogen limitation in eutrophic freshwater systems, as well as various other aspects of nitrogen cycling in aquatic systems. His talk should provide a very useful perspective to the often phosphorus-centric research community here in Vermont. Dr. McCarthy will present research from a variety of freshwater systems, including Missisquoi Bay, Lake Champlain.
This seminar will take place at the Rubenstein Ecosystem Science Lab in the ECHO building, Room 207 (the teaching lab), and is part of the Rubenstein Ecosystem Science Laboratory Seminar Series. Drinks and conversation at the Skinny Pancake will follow the seminar.
