Courses:

ENSC160 lab: Pollutant Movement through Air, Land, and Water.  Link to 2012 syllabus.  A core course for the Environmental Sciences major, emphasizing hands-on learning.  A semester-long project focuses on sampling and measuring some aspect of UVM's environmental impact.

PSS264: Chemistry of Soil and Water, offered odd years in spring.  Link to 2011 syllabus.  Service-learning course primarily focusing on soils.  We do an in-depth study of the chemistry of soil surfaces and soil water with a project addressing a current local environmental problem. 

PSS269: Soil and Water Pollution and Bioremediation, offered even years in spring. Link to 2012 syllabus.  Service-learning course emphasizing bioremediation.  Student projects involve a community partner and have included phytoremdiation of lead-contaminated soils in Burlington and the use of biochar as a phosphorus filter.
