Academics

UVM is a university that is dedicated to the mission of providing a quality education to its students. One manner in which this is done is by offering a collection of Academic Support Programs so that students who are facing difficulties in class can receive the best help possible to succeed. UVM also has offices that are here to help the non-traditional student or a student with a physical or learning disability.  The ACCESS office has an office that has all of the resources for students that may fall into either one of these categories.

UVM also recognizes that fact that we have a population of first generation students who are attempting to navigate a lack of knowledge about college amongst their family members. Our Student Support Services office is a department that is dedicated to helping students and families navigate this experience. As a tool to help family members, here is a picture of a student's potential weekly schedule. This schedule includes class, campus activities and an on campus job. However, study time is not included because it is up to each students’ discretion of how much time a week or day that they would like to study. The university recommends 3-5 hours of study a day per class that a student has. The university also has an academic calendar for students, which outline when final exams and breaks are.
