Middle Level Education Program
A Typical Student Program
Students who complete the program on a full-time basis enroll in the courses as follows:
Fall Semester: (18 credits)
- EDML 207 Adolescent Learning and Development
- EDML 177 Young Adolescent Literature and Literacy
- EDML 260 Middle Level Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
- EDML 261 Middle Level Teaching Practicum
- EDFS 203 Social, Historical & Philosophical Foundations of Education
Spring Semester: (15 credits)
- EDML 285 Internship
- EDML 286 Student Teaching Support Seminar
- EDML 287 Literacy and Mathematics
Second Summer: (3 credits)
- EDML 270 Middle Level Organization
Remaining Requirements for the M.A.T.: (3 credits)
Master students have a maximum of five years to complete their master's degree from start to finish.
