DFES Web Enhancement

DFES Introduces Web Enhancement Effort 

With a Divisional website, eight service group sites, and a variety of unit sites representing DFES online, the DFES Senior Leadership Team saw the need to develop a more unified and coherent web presence for the Division. A team of DFES web developers took on the challenge and recently introduced an online DFES Web Development Guide to help DFES web developers create effective websites that give visitors a more consistent experience as they navigate the DFES web space.
 
The guide leads DFES web developers through a five-step process:
 
1.      Developing a web strategy
2.      Tools and support
3.      Building web content
4.      Web site review
5.      Getting published
 
These guidelines apply both to any new sites and as sites are reviewed and redesigned. The objective is to have all DFES websites go through a review process by June 2011.
 
The processes outlined in the guide were put into action during the development of the snap! administrative services locater site and are also being used in the redesign of the ETS website that is now underway. For more information about the DFES Web Guide, contact Eric Hoefel.
