About Dr. Connolly

Dr. Connolly was born in Belfast, N. Ireland and was educated there until 1988 when he went to the University of Rhode Island and then on to Oregon State University.  He is an active athlete having played competitive Gaelic football in his younger years in Ireland.  Currently, he plays competitive rugby for Burlington RFC and enjoys recreational skiing, water-skiing and the occasional triathlon. His wife, Shannon, is also an avid excerciser.  She played basketball for the University of Vermont and for the Canadian National Team.  Most people say she is the real athlete in the family.  Shannon and Declan have two children: a son, Kiaran, and a daughter, Fiona.  Pictures of both are available by clicking here.  The Connolly's currently reside in Burlington, but return several times each eyar to Canada and Ireland to visit the in-laws (and outlaws).  They love to travel and Declan has travelled extensively, having hitch-hiked around the world for 2 years following his undergraduate degree.  Parenthood now keeps them closer to home.
