"...brilliant...if you can sail these mythic waters, you're in for quite a journey." All Things Considered

The Bowed Piano Ensemble of Colorado College is an elite group of musicians exploring cutting edge performance with sounds made directly on the strings of a grand piano using their fingers, popsicle sticks, fishing line, guitar picks, plumbing tape, and more. The result is an orchestral array of tone colors, harmonies and rhythms of exceptional beauty and form. The BPE have performed in world-renowned venues like the Sydney Opera House, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Town Hall, the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, the Spoleto Festival and many more. They've appeared on NPR, and were the subject of a recent documentary “Beyond the Keyboard.” We guarantee that you have never seen nor heard anything quite like this – and we hope you'll join us for this music of extraordinary inventiveness and beauty.
