These large tuning forks, made from iron and mounted on a wooden base, were used to generate Liassajous patterns and standing waves. The forks would be set up facing each other with a wire connected to the top of each of the forks. When the forks are excited, a standing wave is set up on the wire. Made by the Charles S. Bourne of Lowell Mass. |
