Ranch Valley
In July 1999, the newest of the VMC meteorological stations was established at Mt Mansfield, in cooperation with the Mt. Mansfield Company. The station is located along the auto-toll road at 2900' (884 m) in the local area known as "Ranch Valley". This station provides basic meteorological variables including wind speed and direction, air temperature, relative humidity, total solar irradiance, and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). These data will be valuable to research projects located on mid-elevation slopes of Mt. Mansfield.
Data are collected and stored to a Campbell CR10X datalogger as 15 min. averages. Archived meteorological data from July 1999 to present are available online at the VMC web site.
