LMS Migration
The following links provide useful information for this project. However, the current meeting notes, plans, and materials are now on Basecamp (see Holly if you need a userID/password):
LMS Brainstorm - slouching towards a project plan and documentation
LMS Migration - once a decision has been made, how do we get there
LMS in the News - news items highligting current "externalities" and the changing learning landscape
LMS Environment - "externalities" and broader issues
Doctor Workflow
Sounds a bit formal, but I wanted a place to store tracking system items, such as feature lists and discussion surrounding how we track clients and sessions. It also occurred to me that this might be a good place to talk about how we use or want to use tools like this wiki (or even how we don't want to use it!).
Wiki Notes
waw 2006-10-27: LDAP login enabled. UVM affiliates please use NetID and associated password to log in
waw 2006-10-27: image upload enabled
When editing these pages, first log in (see top of page). That way the tracking feature will show your name rather than your IP address. Also, to "time stamp" a page with your name and date/time, type 4 tildes.
the following copied from old LRG wiki 2006.08.01 Finished LDAP login hooks, enabled tighter authorizations tied to LDAP ou (waw)
2006.08.01 waw notes that mediawiki installation never come with help. Help is intended to be localized, or redirected to User's Guide
2006.07.31 Missing Help pages (e.g. Editing help)
2006.07.31 Editing wiki page (login as sjc (some munged_uid_error, etc) (sjc)

User groups and permissions for LRG Mediawiki
This installation of mediawiki departs from the default authorizations delivered with the base product. Most notably,
- Authentication use UVM LDAP server; thus, use your UVM NetID and associated password
- Default permissions for unauthenticated users not logged in are read and talk (ok, haven't verified talk yet)
- Default permissions for LDAP authenicated users is pretty much the same
- NetIDs in the following LDAP ou (organizational units) have bureaucrat privileges
- "Academic Computing"
- "Ctr for Teaching & Learning"
- NetID LRG has sysop privileges
bureaucrat privileges include
- move
- edit
- createpage
- createtalk
- upload
- reupload
- reupload-shared
- minoredit
- delete
- deletedhistory
- import
- importupload
- rollback
- unwatchedpages
Sysops have all of the above, and
- createaccount (which should have no use in an LDAP environment)
- block
- editinterface
- patrol
- protect
