20006-08-31 CTLDoc meeting

Planning for the new year:

1) firming up the schedule

  • see /~ctldoc for schedule
  • once Malachi knows his schedule we will finalize Malachi's, Hope's, and Wes' time slots. Wes can't do T/R p.m.

2) any room or equipment concerns?

  • Use wiki (~ctldoc/wiki) to post desired software or changes to installed software (see: SoftwareList-Fall2006)
  • use wiki to create a maintenance checklist for Commons laptops (see: MaintenanceChecklist
  • items left on desktops can be placed in Lost&Found folder, then deleted regularly as needed
  • we will keep 2-3 machines on tables for ease of use, but will occasionally swap out machines to catch Windows updates

3) any desired changes in how Dr Is In operates?

  • everyone is encouraged to wash dishes
  • if you notice supplies are low, contact Holly
  • furniture requests, laptop locks: Holly

4) CTLDOC communication - should we still use email ? - should we get in the DoctorWiki frame of mind ?

  • create link on ctldoc home page to wiki: Hope
  • we are encouraged to use the wiki

5) CTLDOC time management - Steve created a CTLDOC "project" under the Learning Resourse Group "client" in Harvest for CLTDOC overhead types of things - "meetings", working on the CTLDOC site, cleaning up the room, managing hardware, scheduling hours,

  • Harvest (https://uvmlrg.harvestapp.com/): just do it
  • Harvest: report Dr Is In shift as Dr Is In even if you do other projects/consulting during that time (feel free to double report)

6) Doc Is In client survey: November?

  • send out end of Sept: Wendy

7) Using room for non-Dr functions during Dr hours

  • we'll determine on case by case basis
  • non-CTL folk using the room should be made aware that computer/software set-up and testing by CTL staff is not automatically part of the arrangement
  • as functions in CTL303 may be perceived as CTL hosted, we should remain aware of what/how the room is used, whether it fits with CTLs mission and standards
