For those of you nearing the end of your senior year, or looking at beginning to apply for internships before that, need to pay attention!Employers may call your recommendations listed on your resume, but You are not allowed to view links.

Login. The question isn't if they will do it, but whether or not you make it into a professional strength. As people in Computer Science, we are expected to be savvy and on top of not just our technical skills, but out social and skills and professional image as well.
To that end, clean up your social media:
- Untag yourself from any image that you wouldn't feel comfortable showing to an employer in an interview.
- Clean up your public facing wall posts/blog entries; be aware of who can view your posts!
- Improve your online presence in the professional 'community':
- Make your LinkedIn page shine!
- Follow some industry leaders on Twitter, and make some worthwhile comments.
- Contribute to some open source projects.
- and blog about your experiences!
- Read industry documents and
- Blog about them.
- reTweet them.
- Post comments on them.
Most importantly and fundamental to all of this is to register a professional and recognizable (as you) email address to associate with all of these things. Make it easy for employers to find the positive stuff you've made public on the web.
