Programming Languages as Pokemon

Funny discussion topic from the other day.
For this discussion evolution in Pokemon counts as getting better in a certain language.
MatLab is like Ratatta, you can catch it right off the bat. But it's not that useful, and even when you evolve it, Normal types aren't that cool.
LISP is like Magikarp, really difficult to use at first. Once you evolve it, it kills everything and you never want to use anything else.
R is Goldeen, for statisticians it's the HM bitch, for everyone else, it's not worth fishing for.
Add to the list please!

C++ is Pidgeot. Takes the previous crappy version and evolves it into something decent.

Python is like Grimer, pretty cool and powerful once you use it, but overall it's trash
