About the Vermont Studies Program
    Vermont Studies Program

Vermont Studies is an interdisciplinary minor that integrates Vermont-related courses taught throughout the University of Vermont. The Center for Research on Vermont coordinates this program in cooperation with other departments that offer Vermont-related courses.

The gateway course, Vermont Studies 52, Introduction to Vermont, gives students an overview of the state and familiarizes them with the disciplinary perspectives important in its study.

The program maintains a current listing of approved courses for the minor (together with any prerequisites) and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration in the classroom. Importantly, the program offers individual advising to each of its students.

The UVM Catalogue contains information about the Vermont Studies Program, including requirements and course descriptions.

To obtain a brochure of courses that can be taken for credit towards the Vermont Studies minor, contact the Center for Research on Vermont/Vermont Studies Program, 589 Main Street, Burlington, VT 05401; telephone (802) 656-4389, or email: crv@uvm.edu, or visit the Registrar's Schedule of Courses.
