Welcome To UVM Crew!
The University of Vermont Crew team dates back to 1984 when several former high school rowers took the initiative to form the team, which now compromises of a men's and a women's team, each with their own novice and varsity divisions. With a total roster sometimes reaching over 100 members, it is one of the largest club teams both at UVM and throughout the region. We train primarily on the Lamoille River in nearby Milton, a small town a few miles outside of Burlington. However, in the later months of the fall through the early spring our focus switches primarily to fitness training due to the river's freeze and potential dangers of the cold weather.
The team, while having only club status at UVM, competes against a variety of both club and varsity-level schools. All of our members train and compete throughout the fall and spring season in order to race at some of the biggest races in the country, including the Head of the Charles regatta, the New England Rowing Championships and the Dad Vails Regatta. In order to be competitive in the early spring races we also go an a yearly trip south over spring break in order to get much-needed time on the water while the winter weather of Vermont prevents it.

First Weekend in the Books!
After a successful weekend of racing, the Men's and Women's teams are back from Worcester and Boston respectivly. The men got 2nd and 3rd in the 4's races, while the women fought a good race on the Charles against some very high caliber teams.

Rent-A-Rower
Our team is 100% student run. That means we pay for our own equipment, entry fees, professional coaching, and other expenses through fundraising and generous donations from our supporters. If you need help raking leaves, painting, shoveling snow, or any other task you see fit for a group of Burlington Rowers, drop us a line (or an oar handele) and let us help you out. Head over to our fundraising page to get more information and see how we can help you!
