FREE TUITION FOR COPC-RELATED CLASSES AT UVM

Available for Residents of the Old North End Community - Call the COPC office for more information (802-656-0095).  The Spring Semester 2003 is the last semester that these funds will be available!

The University of Vermont has established a COPC Tuition Remission Fund to support community residents taking UVM fieldwork courses related to any of the three UVM/Burlington COPC projects: Community Leadership, Fair Housing, or Community Impacts.

In the Fall 2000 semester, this fund supported three community residents to attend classes in the areas of Community Psychology, Housing Rights, and UVM's Economic Impacts. It was a satisfying partnership for all involved: the community members received academic credit and participated in surveying and interviewing their own community, and their classmates benefited from the knowledge and perspective that community members and practitioners brought to the classroom. Their presence in the program was engaging and exciting.

People who are interested in applying for tuition remission should contact the UVM/Burlington COPC Office: (802) 656-0095, copc@zoo.uvm.edu. Please call for more information!
