The College of Arts and Sciences internally supports a number of computer teaching labs in certain departments. In general these labs are specific to the discipline of the department that owns them and are vital to the departmental curriculum. These labs are closed to use by anyone other than those taking classes within that departmental discipline.
Theses spaces were identified via a 2001 inventory as computer labs that meet the following criteria:
Including scheduled replacement year (all labs are replaced during the Summer of the year listed).

The College discourages departments from establishing new computer teaching labs unless it is unavoidable. Computer labs are very expensive in both dollars and FTEs; not only to the College but to the host department and faculty involved in teaching courses using the lab. Should a department wish to submit a new space to this program, they should send a request in writing to Arts and Sciences Computing Services. Note that the space under consideration must meet the criteria outlined above and that replacement of this space may not occur for several years after the date of request depending on the state of the lab space. Remember that we're dealing with a relatively fixed level of funding here thus funding your lab may force us to delay replacing someone else's.
