- Effort is the amount of time spent on a particular
University compensated activity
- Individual effort is expressed as a percentage of the total amount of time spent on University compensated activities
- The cumulative effort of a semi-monthly paid employee on
University compensated activities shall constitute the
employee's 100% effort regardless of the time required to
accomplish those activities
- The Institutional Base Salary (IBS) definition defines what
Universities compensated activities are included in an
individual's 100% effort
- An employee's proposed and expended effort on University
compensated activities shall be consistently applied in
sponsored agreement proposals, in distributing University
payroll and in certifying effort.
- Bi-weekly payroll employees are based on actual hours worked on an activity
- Effort reports are used to verify & certify salaries
charged to sponsored agreements are reasonable in relation to
work performed for semi-monthly payroll employees
