Effort Related Costs Transfers must follow UVM's policy Cost Transfers on Grants and Contracts which require:

• Salary/wage cost transfers which occur 30 days after the posted date of the original charge on the sponsored agreement require a cost transfer memo for justication of appropriationess.
  

• When any cost transfer is submitted more than 90 days after the posted date of the original charge, a full explanation of why it is late is an additional requirement.

• Cost transfer requests after the end of the grant or contract shall be honored up to 30 days after the end date.

To verify the effort percentages on the salary distribution form is reasonable in relation to work performed,  the employee is required to sign the retroactive salary distribution form.

For retroactive wage transfers, the employee is require to sign the cost transfer memo to re-certify his or effort change.
