Committed Effort - Definition
Committed effort is the amount of time proposed for the PI and key personnel in the approved sponsored agreement. The amount of time may be defined in months or percentage of effort. The defined amount of committed effort is driven by what is stated in the budget, narrative or terms and conditions of the sponsored agreement.
The effort commitments of principal investigators (PI) and key personnel must be sufficient to ensure oversight of financial, scientific and compliance aspects of a sponsored activity, and must be in proportion to the size and scope of the project.
