Sally Ross Nolan, M.S. Research Communications Specialist
Sally has worked at the CNRU since 1998. She is responsible for the recruiting, screening, and diagnostic interviewing of participants for various studies. Sally designs ads, brochures, and other marketing materials and is the "face" of the unit at health fairs and other public events.
Sally is also a Standardized Patient (SP) for UVM College of Medicine. She teaches basic physical exam skills, communication skills, and portrays various patient cases in learning or testing situations with medical students. SPs behave as real patients might in a given situation, so students can practice with them before seeing real patients in an office or hospital setting. She loves this work and believes it's an invaluable service to medical students and their future patients.
Previous to coming to Fletcher Allen Health Care, Sally worked in various capacities with a diverse array of groups, including students in special education programs, teenage mothers, residents at the Chittenden County Correctional Center, parent education programs, and teacher training. She brings her love of research, education, and extensive experience working with clients, students, and patients to her role in the CNRU as a research communications specialist.
Sally has a M.S. in counseling from St. Michael's College.
