Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) affects approximately 5% of reproductive age women. PCOS is a syndrome that causes irregular menstrual cycles, polycystic appearing ovaries and increased acne and hair growth. It can also put women at risk for depression and anxiety. We are currently recruiting women with PCOS for a study using functional MRI to assess for response to emotional words and images. To participate, women must have PCOS and no current use of hormonal contraception including birth control pills or the Mirena IUD.
