Graduate Research Assistant
I am beginning my third year as a student within the Neuroscience Graduate Program. With the assistance of my mentor Dr. Alexandra Potter, I am examining the relationship between emotional regulation and impulsive behaviors with a specific emphasis in understanding the etiology of Alcohol Use Disorders. In order to examine these constructs, function magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) will be employed to examine the neural circuitry used to moderate controlled impulsive behaviors relevant to occurrences of maladaptive use. In this way I hope to identify an endophenotype that characterizes individuals at high risk of an AUD.
