Undergraduate honor awards in Communication Sciences and Disorders

Each year the faculty of the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department select three senior CMSD undergraduate majors as recipients of honor awards. Presentation of these undergraduate awards occurs at the College of Nursing and Health Sciences' Undergraduate Tea and the Awards Ceremony for Seniors and Graduate Students in the Spring.


• The Margaret Kyte Memorial Undergraduate Award is presented to a graduating CMSI Senior who has shown outstanding academic performance.
• The Rodney Everhart Undergraduate Award is presented to a graduating CMSI Senior for strong academic performance and individual promise for professional achievement as a Speech-Language Pathologist or Audiologist.
• The Department of Communication Sciences Undergraduate Award is presented to a graduating CMSI Senior who demonstrates excellence in scholarship, leadership and professional promise.

Undergraduate Spotlight - CMSI Major - Erin Maskell-Ferland '09 , of Franklin, Vermont: She was awarded a McNair Scholarship in her junior year. In April 2009, Erin presented her senior honor's research at the second annual UVM Student Research Conference.

Awarded to a PT student with financial need. Must be out-of-state resident as he/she enters DPT program. Automatically renewed for up to three subsequent years (a total of 8 semesters). Award amount: $1,500-1,700.
