General Education Requirements for Undergraduate Nursing Majors
Eligible transfer applicants must have a minimum of 30 credit hours completed with a grade of C or higher and must include at least one semester of a laboratory chemistry class with a component of organic and biochemistry (equivalent to UVM’s CHEM 26). The remaining credits may come from a combination of the following classes:
- Human Development (HDFS 05 at UVM)
- English Composition (ENGL 01 at UVM)
- General Chemistry (CHEM 23 at UVM)
- General Psychology (PSYC 01 at UVM)
- Abnormal Psychology (PSYC 152 at UVM)
- Introduction to Sociology (any introductory level sociology course)
- Any Philosophy, Religion or Ethics class
- Fundamentals of Nutrition (NFS 43 at UVM)
- Elements of Statistics (STAT 111 at UVM)
- Anatomy and Physiology (ANPS 19 at UVM)*
- Microbiology and Pathogenesis (MMG at UVM)*
- Elective course work
*Only students matriculating in majors which require ANPS and MMG are eligible to enroll in the UVM courses.
