The Department of Nursing has an award to be presented to an outstanding student in the baccalaureate program who will graduate in May 2010. This award was established by Mr. George Allen in honor of his wife, Clarissa Peters Allen. The selection process and the criteria for the award were also established by Mr. Allen.

Nomination Deadline: Monday, April 5, 2010 at 4:30 p.m.

Award Criteria

Exemplifies the character of Clarissa Peters Allen:

• Has integrity
• Is loyal to friends
• Is compassionate and loving in relationships with people
• Has a good sense of humor
• Is dependable
• Sets high standards for self and others
• Excels in nursing ability
• Is analytical in approach to problem solving
• Recognized by peers and faculty as outstanding member of class
• Is highly intelligent
• Is in the upper third of the class
