Dr. O’Meara is a women’s health nurse practitioner at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Dr. O’Meara completed her MS at Boston College in 2006 and her DrNP at Drexel University in March of 2014. Her dissertation was entitled Simulation Learning Modalities among Nurse Practitioner Students using Herpes as a Case Exemplar. She has a strong interest is reproductive health care and creative learning modalities that encourage student engagement. She is currently studying for her Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner certification with UVM. She teaches in the undergraduate, graduate, and RN to BSN programs.
