Important Changes for applicants to the Fall 2010 Graduate Program
The UVM Communication Sciences Department is a member of the Centralized Application Service for Communication Sciences (CASCSD).

  • What does this mean for applicants to the Communication Sciences Graduate Program?
    Effective Fall 2009, applicants for admission to the CMSI graduate program will complete an application through the CSDCAS web portal and through the UVM Graduate College website.

  • Is the CMSI Graduate Program accredited? The Department of Communication Sciences' Master of Science Program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • What courses are required in the Graduate Program? The CMSI on-campus graduate program requires completion of at least 48 credits, including 13 required courses. Download an outline of the Course Sequence for the on-campus Graduate Program. (pdf format)
  • How many clinical hours are required? - At least 400 clinical practicum hours (including 25 hours clinical observation) are required by ASHA and the Department of Communication Sciences (CMSI) in completion of the Graduate Program.
  • Is there a clinic associated with the CMSI Graduate Program? The Eleanor M. Luse Center for Communication: Speech, Language, and Hearing shares quarters with the Department and serves as an on-site primary practicum site for graduate students. Read more about the E. M. Luse Center Clinic
