December Graduates Recognition Celebration
Important Information for Faculty
Overflow Announcement: Due to wonderful turn out we have opened overflow seating for the December Graduates' Recognition Celebration in Billings Lecture Hall (1st floor of Ira Allen Chapel). Live-feed of the ceremony will be broadcast in large screen format.
The December Graduates Recognition Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 for those students who have fulfilled the requirements for their degree mid-year. All faculty are invited to attend and participate in the academic procession.
The recognition celebration will start with a ceremony from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in Ira Allen Chapel, followed by a buffet brunch from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Billings Center. President Daniel Mark Fogel and Interim Provost Jane E. Knodell will offer remarks, as will other members of the administration and faculty.
The academic procession will queue at 8:30 a.m.in the MLK Lounge (please note: the robing location has changed from the Billings Round Room to the MLK Lounge, 12/7/09.) Faculty planning to process should arrive at the MLK Lounge no later than 8:25 a.m. wearing full academic regalia.
The procession will include the platform party and faculty, led by James W. Bergmeier, University Marshal and President of the Faculty Senate. The procession will walk from the MLK Lounge to Cook Commons, exit onto the patio, and walk to the front of the Ira Allen Chapel. Students will not process; they will sit in the reserved student seating section.
