IMPORTANT UPDATE!

Due to a favorable weather forecast, the University Commencement Main Ceremony and the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony will be held outdoors on the University Green as originally planned. (Tickets are not required.)

Instructions to Undergraduate Degree Candidates

Undergraduate degree candidates will receive an email from Marching Order (our ticketing partner) to their UVM email account on Monday, May 6, with a link to a Marching Order web page where they will be asked to log-in with their UVM net ID and password. Once logged-in, they will be able to reserve tickets and print them out at any time and/or send them to their family and friends.

If you do not receive an email on Monday, May 6, from Marching Order (make sure to check your junk mail folder) to your UVM email account by 1:00 p.m., please email Academic_Ceremonies@uvm.edu as soon as possible and someone will assist you within one-business day.

Note: tickets cannot be duplicated. Guests will be required to have their printed tickets on them at all times and will need them for exit and entry at the Multipurpose Facility, where the Main Commencement Ceremony and College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony will be held.

  • Ceremony: If the ceremony is held outdoors on the University Green as planned, tickets are NOT required.

In the event of severe weather, the University Commencement Main Ceremony will be moved indoors to the Multipurpose Facility on the Athletic Campus. Unfortunately, seating is limited at this indoor facility. In an effort to ease congestion and improve everyone’s experience at the ceremony, tickets will be required if the ceremony moves indoors.

Undergraduate degree candidates will receive an email to their UVM email account with instructions on how to reserve their tickets on Monday, May 6. Tickets will be available online to degree candidates only. Guests seeking tickets must connect with their degree candidate. Degree candidates do not need a ticket to participate in the University Commencement Main Ceremony.

Degree candidates may reserve up to 2 tickets each online starting Monday, May 6 at 12:00 noon until Thursday, May 16 at 12:00 noon for the University Commencement Main Ceremony. Tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis. Beginning Friday, May 17 at 12:00 noon, any remaining tickets for the main ceremony will be released online to degree candidates at a maximum of 2 additional tickets per candidate on a first come, first served basis.

Guests without tickets may view the ceremony on large screen display and closed-circuit TV in the Davis Center. A live webcast of this ceremony will also be available on the web at http://live.vpt.org/uvm.html.

Students planning to invite guests to the ceremony are strongly advised to request their tickets beginning May 6 as they are first come, first served.

Please note, a decision about whether or not to move the University Commencement Main Ceremony indoors will be posted on the commencement web site no later than 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18.

Please note: Graduate College degree candidates will not participate in the University Commencement Main Ceremony as this ceremony is primarily to confer undergraduate degrees. However, we realize that some Graduate College degree candidates may want to attend the Main Ceremony to hear the commencement speaker. Graduate College degree candidates who would like to reserve tickets (2 each maximum) for the University Commencement Main Ceremony on Sunday, May 19 at 8:20 am, should it move indoors to the Multipurpose Facility on the athletics campus, must do so with their Dean’s Office by Tuesday, April 30.

If you are a degree candidate in the Graduate College, please call 802-656-3160 or email dan.harvey@uvm.edu. You will be asked to provide your name, email address and local address.

College of Medicine degree candidates will receive an email from Marching Order (our ticketing partner) to their UVM email account on Monday, March 11 with a link to a Marching Order web page where they will be asked to log-in with their UVM Net ID and password.   Once logged-in, degree candidates will be able to reserve their tickets and print them out  at any time and/or send them to their family and friends.

If you do not receive an email on Monday, March 11, from Marching Order (make sure to check your junk mail folder) to your UVM email account by 1:00 p.m., please email Barbara.Brisson@uvm.edu as soon as possible for assistance.

Degree candidates may reserve up to 6 tickets each (guaranteed) on-line starting Monday, March 11 at 12:00 noon until Friday, May 10 at 12:00 noon.

Tickets will be available on-line to degree candidates only. Guests seeking tickets must connect with their degree candidate. Degree candidates do not need a ticket to participate in the College of Medicine Commencement Ceremony.

Degree candidates do not need a ticket to participate in the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony.

College of Arts and Sciences degree candidates are guaranteed up to 4 tickets each for the Arts and Sciences ceremony. Degree candidates may reserve tickets on-line starting Monday, May 6 starting at 12:00 noon until Thursday, May 16 at 12:00 noon.
