Caps and Gowns:

Academic regalia for the 211th Commencement Ceremony will be available for purchase both at the UVM Bookstore and online at http://uvmbookstore.uvm.edu beginning Monday, April 22nd. Pre-orders are not necessary.

If you require special gown sizing, please contact the Bookstore to assure that you will have a gown that fits you.  Caps and gowns are made of Oak Hall’s GreenWeaver material, a lightweight polyester-like material made from 23 post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.

Student Regalia:

To participate in May 2013 Commencement ceremonies, a complete outfit is required for all degree candidates (Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral).

Pricing:

Complete Bachelor’s regalia with new stole: $65.00
Complete Master’s regalia:                                 $69.00
Complete Doctoral regalia:      $75.00

Individual parts of the complete regalia (tassel, cap, gown, hood, or stole) may be purchased at the UVM Bookstore.  For a comprehensive price list please call 1-800-331-7305.

Undergraduate students may opt to sell their stoles back to the UVM Bookstore until May 31st. Stoles in clean, re-saleable condition will be purchased back by the store for approximately half their retail value, dry cleaned, and reused for the following semester’s Commencement.

Faculty Regalia:

Faculty may rent regalia through the UVM Bookstore. Orders must be placed by Monday, April 29th. Any rental orders placed after this date will incur late order charges as well as expedited shipping charges.

Faculty may also purchase inexpensive GreenWeaver regalia or custom regalia by contacting Balfour representative Paul Trono at 802-658-6126 or by email at paul.trono@balfour-rep.com.

Announcements:

  • Personalized Announcements: Orders for personalized announcements for bachelor, master, doctoral, and medical degrees can be placed online at http://www.balfour.com (click on colleges, type in VERMONT, click on University of Vermont). Please allow 3-4 weeks for personalized orders.
  • Non-Personalized Announcements: single, 5 pack, and 10 packs of non-personalized announcements for the Sunday morning Main Commencement Ceremony for bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees are available at the Customer Service counter at the Bookstore or online at http://uvmbookstore.uvm.edu

Class Rings:

  • A representative from ArtCarved Balfour will be at the UVM Bookstore Wednesday, April 24th (during Senior Celebration) for those wishing to order class rings. Class rings may also be purchased anytime by contacting Balfour representative Paul Trono at (802) 658-6126 or by email at paul.trono@balfour-rep.com.

Diploma Frames:

  • Diploma frames are available for bachelor, master, doctoral, and medical degrees. They can be purchased either at the UVM Bookstore or online at http://uvmbookstore.uvm.edu.

Senior Celebration:

Senior Celebration at the UVM Bookstore is Wednesday, April 24th. Join the fun and pick-up your cap and gown, diploma frame, and announcements while enjoying some refreshments. All in-stock diploma frames will be discounted 25% that day and there will be a raffle for a diploma frame and other items.

Senior Portraits & Senior Memory Book (Folklore):

Students will have an opportunity during Senior Celebration to have their picture taken for Folklore, the senior memory book. Portraits slots are available on a first come, first serve basis. It is free to sit for a portrait and be included in the Folklore Senior Memory Book. If you sit for a Senior Portrait you will receive a free senior t-shirt. Please visit the UVM Student Alumni Association website for more details and to schedule a portrait session. Portraits for Folklore are provided by McGrath Studios.

Commencement DVD:

A DVD of the 211th Commencement Ceremony will be available from the UVM Bookstore for $37.95 plus $7.99 shipping and handling (please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery).

The DVD will include both the University Commencement Main Ceremony (Sunday, 5/19, 8:20 a.m.) and an individual college or school ceremony of your choice: College of Agriculture & Life Sciences (CALS), College of Arts & Sciences (CAS), School of Business Administration (BSAD), College of Education & Social Services (CESS), College of Engineering & Mathematical Sciences (CEMS), Rubenstein School of Environment & Natural Resources (RSENR), College of Medicine (COM), College of Nursing & Health Sciences (CNHS), Graduate College (GRAD). The Honors College Scholars Recognition Ceremony (HCOL) or a second individual ceremony may be added to the DVD for an additional fee of $16.95. Pre-orders may be placed at the UVM Bookstore or online at http://uvmbookstore.uvm.edu
