IMPORTANT UPDATE!

Due to a favorable weather forecast, the University Commencement Main Ceremony and the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony will be held outdoors on the University Green as originally planned. (Tickets are not required.)


IMPORTANT TICKET ANNOUNCEMENT:

STUDENTS: You will receive an email from Marching Order (our ticketing partner) to your UVM email account on Monday, May 7 with a link to a Marching Order web page where you will be asked to enter your UVM email address.  After you submit your email address, you will receive an email from Marching Order sent to that address with a link to a Marching Order website where you can set up a unique password, sign in, and reserve tickets. 

If you do not receive an email on Monday, May 7 from Marching Order (make sure to check your junk mail folder) to your UVM email account by 1:00 p.m., please email Academic_Ceremonies@uvm.edu ASAP and someone will assist you within one-business day.

Once your tickets are reserved online, you will be able to log into your account and print your reserved tickets out at any time and/or send them to your family and friends. 

Note: tickets cannot be duplicated.  Guests will be required to have their tickets on them at all times and will need them for exit and entry to the Multipurpose Facility, where the ceremony will be held.

main ceremony
  • Ceremony: If the ceremony is held outdoors on the University Green as planned, tickets are NOT required.

In the event of severe weather, the University Commencement Main Ceremony will be moved indoors to the Multipurpose Facility on the Athletic Campus. Unfortunately, seating is limited at this indoor facility. In an effort to ease congestion and improve everyone’s experience at the ceremony, tickets will be required if the ceremony moves indoors. Tickets will be available on-line to degree candidates only. Guests seeking tickets must connect with their degree candidate. Degree candidates do not need a ticket to participate in the commencement ceremony.

University degree candidates may reserve up to 2 tickets each on-line starting Monday, May 7 at noon through Thursday, May 17 until noon for the University Commencement Main Ceremony. Tickets will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. Beginning Friday, May 18 at noon, any remaining tickets for the main ceremony will be released on-line to degree candidates at a maximum of 2 additional tickets per candidate on a first-come-first-served basis. Guests without tickets may view the ceremony on large screen and closed-circuit TV in the Davis Center.

Degree Candidates will receive an email to their UVM email account with instructions on how to reserve their tickets on May 7.

Please note, a decision about whether or not to move the University Commencement Main Ceremony indoors will be posted on the commencement web site no later than 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19. Students planning to invite guests to the ceremony are strongly advised to request their tickets beginning May 7 as they are first-come first-served.

  • Reception: There is no reception following the University Commencement Main Ceremony.

  • Ceremony: The College of Medicine Commencement Ceremony in Ira Allen Chapel is a ticketed event. Unfortunately, seating is limited at this venue. In an effort to ease congestion and improve everyone’s experience at the ceremony, tickets will be required for guests to attend the College of Medicine Commencement Ceremony. Each degree candidate is guaranteed up to 5 tickets. Guests seeking tickets must connect with their degree candidate. Guests without tickets may view the ceremony on large screen display in the Billings/Ira Allen Lecture Hall. Degree candidates do not need a ticket to participate in the commencement ceremony. Degree Candidates will receive an email to their UVM email account with instructions on how to reserve tickets for their guests. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

College of Arts and Sciences

Beginning Friday, May 18 at noon, any remaining tickets for the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony will be released to degree candidates at a maximum of 2 additional tickets per candidate on a first-come-first-served basis. Guests without tickets may view the ceremony on large screen display and closed-circuit TV in the Davis Center.
