Commencement 2006
Parking
Commencement parking maps will be distributed to students when they pick up their caps and gowns. Maps will also be distributed to campus shuttle buses and area hotels/motels commencement weekend. If you do not receive a map and would like one, contact the University Communications Office, (802) 656-2005 or e-mail the office at newserv@zoo.uvm.edu.

Getting Around at Commencement
Parking areas for each college or school are designated as follows.
Shuttle buses will bring guests to and from all commencement events (please
refer to Commencement Parking Map and Quick
Reference Guide for schedule and bus stop locations). Please
respect our neighbors. Parking on area residential streets is by city-issued
permit only. Violators will be subject to City of Burlington policy of ticketing
and towing vehicles parked in these areas.

Street Closings
From Friday, May 18, 7:00 p.m. through Sunday, May 20, 8:00 p.m., University Place will be closed from Colchester Avenue to Main Street, and South Prospect Street will be closed from College Street to the University Health Center entrance. In addition, on Saturday, May 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 20 from 7:00 am to 5:00 p.m. South Prospect Street will be closed from Colchester Avenue to Main Street, and College Street will be closed from South Prospect Street to South Williams Street.

Shuttle service will be available between the Gutterson Parking Garage and the
University Green for the Graduate College Hooding Ceremony
Sunday, May 20, 2007
7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Bus routes are as follows: Royall Tyler
Theatre to Patrick Gymnasium or the University of Vermont Conference Center
at the Sheraton, Allen House to Flynn Theatre and Wyndham Hotel, north end of
the University Green to Trinity Campus. Shuttle buses run every 10 minutes from
each bus stop (see map).
Deaf and Disability Accommodation Requests
Participants or guests with mobility and/or hearing impairments may make arrangements for parking, seating, amplification and/or interpretation, by contacting the office of Transportation and parking Services at (802) 656-8686 or by email at parking@uvm.edu. In order to provide you with the best possible service, please make your arrangements as far in advance of commencement as possible. Commencement programs are also available in Braille by special request.
