Detailed News Release

Students, dressed in cap and gown, will line up for the academic procession at 8 a.m. at the Indoor Track in Patrick Gymnasium and will proceed to the Multipurpose Facility where they will sit together, not with their families and guests as originally planned.

Faculty dressed in regalia will line up for the academic procession at 8 a.m.in the Gymnastics Facility at Patrick Gymnasium.

The academic procession will begin at 8:20 a.m.

The president will confer degrees on the graduates by college and school. Gustavo Esteva, a passionate advocate for democracy and economic justice for Mexico's poor, will give the commencement address. Honorary degrees will be awarded to Esteva, Graham Stiles Newell, Elizabeth Cushman Titus Putnam, Barbara W. Snelling, and Hubert “Hub” W. Vogelmann.

The academic procession will form at 11:00 a.m. in the Gutterson Indoor Track. Tickets are not required. A reception for graduates, family and friends will follow in the Simpson Dining Hall.
