Due to a favorable weather forecast, the University Commencement Main Ceremony and the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony will be held outdoors on the University Green as originally planned. (Tickets are not required for these ceremonies.)
The University Commencement Main Ceremony and the College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony will be held outdoors on the University Green, rain or shine. Graduates and guests are advised to dress appropriately for the weather. Temperatures in May can vary greatly. Clothing that can be layered easily is advisable along with comfortable footwear for walking on grass. Please plan for the possibility of strong sun as well as cool or wet weather. For visitor comfort, indoor viewing on large screen display will be available in Waterman Memorial Lounge.
In the event of severe weather, the University Commencement Main Ceremony and the College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony will be moved indoors to the Multipurpose Facility in the Athletic Complex. Unfortunately, seating for guests is limited in the Multipurpose Facility. In an effort to ease congestion and improve everyone’s experience at these ceremonies, tickets will be required. Guests without tickets may view these ceremonies on large screen display and closed-circuit TV on multiple floors of the Davis Center on the main campus.
Tickets will only be required to attend the University Commencement Main Ceremony and/or the College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony at their indoor "severe weather" venue.
For information regarding a possible change of venue, please visit the UVM home page at www.uvm.edu or call (802) 656-3309 or toll free (800) 903-6601 beginning Saturday afternoon, May 16, at 1:00 pm.
