General Ticket Information
Tickets are NOT required to attend the University Commencement Main Ceremony or College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony if the ceremony is held outdoors on the University Green as planned. In the event of severe weather, the University Commencement Main Ceremony and the College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony will be moved indoors to the Multipurpose Facility on the Athletic Campus. Unfortunately, seating is limited at this indoor venue. In an effort to ease congestion and improve everyone’s experience at the ceremony, tickets will be required for each ceremony. All undergraduate degree candidates will be able to reserve up to 2 tickets for the Main Commencement Ceremony. Arts and Sciences degree candidates will be able to reserve up to 4 tickets for the Arts and Sciences ceremony.
Tickets are required for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences Ceremony regardless of weather. Degree candidates will be able to reserve up to 4 tickets.
Tickets are required for the College of Medicine Commencement Ceremony regardless of weather. Degree candidates will be able to reserve up to 6 tickets.
Tickets are NOT required for the following ceremonies:
Graduate College Commencement Ceremony
Honors College Scholars Recognition Ceremony
College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
School of Business Administration
College of Education and Social Services
College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences
Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources
Degree candidates and faculty do not need a ticket to participate in any ticketed commencement ceremony.
Only degree candidates will be able to reserve tickets; details will be emailed to degree candidates in the spring. Guests must receive their tickets from their degree candidate. Guests without tickets will be able to view the ceremony on large screen display and closed circuit TV In the Davis Center (main ceremony and arts and sciences) or Billings/Ira Allen Lecture Hall (medicine and nursing and health sciences).
In addition, for guests without tickets or unable to travel to campus, Vermont Public Television will provide a live webcast of the University Commencement Main Ceremony as well as each college and school ceremony, and the College of Arts and Sciences Honors Ceremony on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 15, 16, and 17. A link will be posted on the Commencement web site.
