Parking and Quick Reference Guide

IMPORTANT UPDATE!

Due to a favorable weather forecast, the University Commencement Main Ceremony and the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony will be held outdoors on the University Green as originally planned. (Tickets are not required for these ceremonies.)

Quick Reference GuideThe Commencement Parking Map and Quick Reference Guide will be distributed to students when they pick up their caps and gowns. Brochures will also be distributed to campus shuttle buses and area hotels/motels commencement weekend. If you do not receive a brochure and would like one, contact the Academic Ceremonies Office, (802) 656-3272 or e-mail the office at Academic_Ceremonies@uvm.edu.

Please respect our neighbors. Parking on area residential streets is by city-issued permit only. Violators will be subject to City of Burlington policy of ticketing and towing vehicles parked in these areas.

Parking assignments for each college or school are designated below. Shuttle buses will bring guests to and from all commencement events (for schedule and bus stop locations, please see schedule below).

Disabled Parking is available at the College Street, Votey, Jeffords, and Gutterson Lots and at the Gutterson Garage. Accessibility Support Requests

Please note: Due to construction, the College Street Garage adjacent to the Hilton Burlington Hotel cannot be accessed via College Street or Battery Street. To access the garage from the University of Vermont campus, proceed west on Main Street (towards Lake Champlain). At the end of Main Street turn right onto Battery Street. Take the second right onto Cherry Street. The College Street Garage is accessible off of Cherry Street just past Hotel Vermont and the entrance is marked with three overhead flags. Street Closings

Friday, May 19, 7:00 p.m. through Sunday, May 21, 8:00 p.m., University Place will be closed from Colchester Avenue to Main Street, and South Prospect Street will be closed from College Street to the University Health Center entrance. In addition, on Sunday, May 21, from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., South Prospect Street will be closed from Colchester Avenue to Main Street, and College Street will be closed from South Prospect Street to South Williams Street. Also on Sunday, the northernmost west bound lane on Main Street from University Heights to South Prospect Street will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Shuttle Bus Service

Saturday, May 20, 2017
1:30 - 5:30 p.m. Shuttle bus service will be available between the Jeffords Lot, Ira Allen Chapel and Davis Center Oval for the Honors College Scholars Recognition Ceremony and Reception.

Sunday, May 21, 2017
7:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Shuttle buses will run every 10 minutes from designated bus stops at Patrick Gym, Royall Tyler Theatre, Given Lot, Jeffords Lot, Davis Center Oval, and the Sheraton Hotel Conference Center Parking Lot. For ceremonies at the Flynn Theatre, a dedicated shuttle will run between the Flynn Theatre, Hilton Burlington Hotel (main entrance on Battery Street), and Allen House (for the Central Campus bus stop) or Patrick Gym (F4) (only if the Main Ceremony is moved indoors due to severe weather).
