Main Ceremony

Location: University Green (Indoor viewing of the [outdoor] University Commencement Main Ceremony will be available on large screen display in Waterman Memorial Lounge.)
Date: Sunday, May 18, 2014
Ceremony Start Time: 8:20 am (includes procession)
Ceremony End Time: 11:00 am
Tickets:
Tickets are not necessary if the ceremony is held outdoors. In the event of severe weather, tickets will be required to attend the Main Ceremony at its indoor venue (see Severe Weather Plan below). More details will be posted as information becomes available.
Videographer: A DVD of this ceremony will be available for purchase from the UVM Bookstore. Pre-orders may be placed on line beginning April 28.

Speaker: Samantha Power, United States Ambassador to the United Nations.
Diplomas: The president will confer degrees on the graduates by school/college. Graduates will receive their diploma at their home college/school ceremony later in the day.

Seating Assistance: Please consider your mobility needs for the day. Ceremonies and receptions are generally a short walk or shuttle bus ride apart. UVM will have a limited number of wheelchairs available to transport individuals at each ceremony venue between the venue's main entrance and their seat (please note, guests will not be able to remain in the transport wheelchair as UVM is unable to provide a wheelchair for all-day use). At the end of the ceremony, please locate an usher (wearing a yellow vest) to return with a wheelchair for assistance. If a wheelchair is needed for the full day, we recommend checking with your local area vendors for availability. Severe Weather Plan


Severe Weather Venue: Multipurpose Facility in the Athletic Complex. Tickets will be required (2 tickets per graduate, graduates do not need a ticket). Guests without tickets may view the ceremony on large screen display and closed-circuit TV in the Davis Center. Severe weather information will be available on the UVM main website beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 or by calling (802) 656-3309 or toll-free (800) 903-6601.
