Graduate College Ceremony

Location: Multipurpose Facility in the Athletic Complex
Date: Saturday, May 21, 2016
Start Time: 12:30 p.m.
End Time: 2:30 p.m.
Tickets: No
Doors Open: 11:00 a.m.
Line-up Location: Students will line-up in the Patrick Gymnasium; Faculty will line-up in the Athletic Performance Center (formerly, Varsity Strength and Conditioning Center)
Line-up Time: 11:30 a.m.
Regalia: Students and faculty should arrive at the line-up wearing their regalia.
Photographer: GradImages, a professional commencement photography business, will photograph each student at their college/school ceremony.  Pre-event registration is encouraged. Visit the GradImages website to pre-register or to order prints. Please note, that photos take up to 72 hours to become available on the GradImages website. Prices start at $9.95. 
Video: A DVD of this ceremony will be available for purchase from the UVM Bookstore. Pre-orders may be placed on line beginning Wednesday, March 16.

Speaker: David Barlow, Ph.D., UVM G' 69, Professor of Psychology and Psychiatry Emeritus, Founder and Director Emeritus, Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders, Boston University.
Diplomas: The president will confer all master's and doctoral degrees at the Graduate College Commencement Ceremony. Degree candidates will be hooded and receive their diploma during the ceremony. After Saturday, May 21, diplomas may be picked up at the Student Service Center located on the 3rd floor of the Waterman Building during the following times: Monday, May 23, 12:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Tuesday - Friday, May 24 - 27, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Remaining diplomas will be mailed the week of May 30.

Seating Assistance:  Please consider your mobility needs for the day. Ceremonies and receptions are generally a short walk or shuttle bus ride apart. UVM will have a limited number of wheelchairs available to transport guests needing assistance at each ceremony venue between the venue’s main entrance and their seat. Please note, guests will not be able to remain in the transport wheelchair during the ceremony, because UVM is unable to provide a wheelchair for all-day use. For assistance with a wheelchair at the end of the ceremony, please locate an usher wearing a yellow vest. If a wheelchair is needed for the full day, we recommend checking with local area vendors for availability.
