What are Club Sports?

Club sports at UVM are 49 different Clubs with well over 1,000 student-athletes. They range from very competitive clubs and individuals to those whose main mission is to teach the sport. Clubs, on average, practice a couple times a week and both host and travel to competitions and events on weekends.

Club Sports are all student run organizations, although many have coaches and instructors to help teach the finer points. Our clubs provide students a wealth of opportunities that cannot be found in the classroom. Our participants gain valuable peer relationships, learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and occupy positions of leadership!

Most of all, We have fun!

Who participates?

With over 1,300 athletes approxiamately 14 percent of the student body were active in Club Sports in 2007-2008. As our student body as a whole is diverse, so were our members. One reason for this is many of our clubs welcome anyone with an interest and will teach you the sport. But this does not mean that more serious athletes don't exist and excel in our programs!

How do you join a Club

Joining is as simple as point and click or a phone call. Check out our directory or browse the organization tree on Collegiate Link to see what sports interest you. Then just contact the team for more information on the club and details on how to join
