Leipzig, 1730 1. Dictum God, give now thy judgment unto the King, and give thy true
righteousness unto the King’s son; That he lead thy people into
righteous, and the suffering deliver.(1) 2. Aria Highest, manifest thy judgmentTo him whom we here obey; So instruct thy servant now, That he here his just right hand, As thou dost in thine own splendor, E’en as thou dost please may order. 3. Recit.and Chorale Lord Sabaoth, thou art e’er true, Thou standest by thy servant near. Say “Yes” to his endeavors. Thou guidest his intent As thine own will and pleasure bid, And settest him that course alone Which to thy praise and to our profit shall portend. Give help the best to counsel. In thee e’er doth our hope abide, Thou wilt, thou willst, thou canst this do; We give ourselves into thy hands now. Outset, onset, and finish, O Lord, the best way lead us. 4. Aria We look to, We count on What thou hast assured us alone. Our salvation and our peril Shall unto thy most watchful mercy Commended be. Da Capo. 5.
