The Municipal and Ecological Planning Project is a multi-faceted GIS-based project that has
developed and analyzed a variety of databases to provide the first GIS analysis of Taulabe, Honduras. Students projects have included an analysis of the Census and GIS mapping of caves and potential ecotourism attractions. This year, undergraduate and graduate students are working closely with UVM faculty and municipal officials to analyze deforestation and water quality data. This will enable a discussion of natural resources and municipal planning in a rural community in Honduras.
