Students who are attracted to CDAE's International Program have holistic views of the world and are action orientated. They don't want to wait four years before making a difference in the world.
The International Program is small yet growing with projects in Honduras, St. Lucia, Dominica, and Costa Rica. One of the program's strengths is that it allows for the integration of a student's individual interests into teams that include both UVM faculty and students and international partners in developing countries.
Most projects in the International Program span several years, in which UVM faculty members ensure continuity and support. Many students become deeply involved in their projects and return for a second or even third trip, themselves becoming bridges for other students. This allows students to significantly expand projects and they have transformed those experiences into grants and honor theses.
